going for a Burton....

When you're out and about, it often pays to investigate the local slopes....

'No!'

Time for the wet finger test.
Huge boost to your already over inflated
ego if you've worked out the location
from this photo.

It's that vertically challenged legend of a slope- Burton Dassett.
Hmmm..... Paul's thinking it's a bit southerly, and the
resident corvids are flapping relentlessly.

One of the locals looks a little more optimistic though....

'Herrrrumph!'

It's down hill all the way, followed by an abrupt slope side landing.

The toys stay in the car, and it's back on the road.

Back on the M40 and it's time for some full size spotting.
Bicester GC's K13 is scratching low over junct. 9
Seems as if everyone's struggling today!

longest day +7

Light winds grace the gathering to celebrate the longest day a week late.

leaving the fuz at homes leads to improvisation,

 meanwhile in the background....

Duke's winter build has a few pre-maiden teething troubles.

....even the sprinkling of magic dust into the cockpit is not enough
to bring the thing back to life.

Burgers and sausages to stave off the disappointment.

They mourn for their fallen comrade.

Jim's gentle West Country coaxing moves the wake
on with no further incidents.

Duke takes his new Wings and Wheels aquisition for a spin.
Floppy snakes make for some exciting moments with
flying qualities frequently shifting from benign to suicidal without warning
Eric saves the day, but getting her down safely is no mean feat.

He celebrates by eating a few of his friends.

The Minimoa never fails to impress

nor do Simon's launches

we find a pair of copulating '27s

and after a miraculously short gestation period- baby makes three!
despite emerging from the womb fully grown,
their wing tips and scale cockpit don't fully develop until after puberty

this looks like some kind of slope-side variety act

"you've been such a lovely audience, we're the Purbeck Posers...thank you
for watching and see you next time!" (solitary slow hand clap from the echoey stalls)
